The Art of Feng ShuiHistory:Feng Shui (literally "wind and water") has been practiced for over 3,000 years in China. It is the art and science of placement, with the intention of achieving balance and harmony in an environment. Feng Shui is based on the philosophy that if we arrange our surroundings in such a way, the positive life energy we attract, will be able to flow freely. What is a Bagua? The bagua is considered the "map of feng shui." It is designed to help you figure out which parts in your home and your life correspond to the nine areas of the bagua. The nine sections are called guas and are shown in the diagram below.
How do I use the Bagua?Step 1: Make a plan of your house or room. Finish off any missing areas to form a square. Write in the names of the rooms on your plan. Step 2: Divide your floor plan into nine equal squares. Your front door or entrance must be on the baseline on the Bagua map (Career). Step 3: Either stand or imagine yourself at your open front door. Fill in all areas of your home with the areas represented by the Bagua. Step 4: Now you know which rooms in your home relate to the various Feng Shui areas. If you have two or more floors, the areas and rooms on each story correspond to each other.
